About the treatment
Light and radiofrequency — from spots and dullness to pores and firmness
e-MAX is an aesthetic medical device that combines energies such as IPL (intense pulsed light), RF (radiofrequency), infrared (IR) and a diode laser. As well as colour concerns such as spots, freckles and dullness, it can address a range of skin concerns, including enlarged pores, fine lines, firmness and elasticity, acne scars and redness. It also suits people who say “it’s not just spots — my pores bother me too”, “I want to improve my skin overall” or “I want a skin treatment with little downtime”.

Combining IPL (light) and RF (radiofrequency)
IPL acts on targets such as melanin, which causes spots and freckles, and haemoglobin in blood vessels, which causes redness. In addition, RF delivers heat energy to the skin, aiming to tighten it and improve firmness. By combining different energies, it can address “colour” concerns and “skin texture” concerns at the same time.
Treatments available with e-MAX
- Aurora (Photo RF) | IPL (light) + RF (radiofrequency)
- A treatment that combines IPL and RF. Light energy acts on melanin and blood vessels while radiofrequency adds heat energy, addressing both skin tone and skin texture. Possible benefits: spots / freckles / dullness / redness / skin texture / firmness / pores, etc.
- Matrix IR | Diode laser + RF (radiofrequency)
- A treatment that combines a diode laser and radiofrequency to deliver heat energy to the dermis. It encourages collagen production, aiming to improve skin quality, including firmness and elasticity, fine lines, pores and acne scars. Possible benefits: fine lines / pores / acne scars / firmness and elasticity / skin quality, etc.
- ReFirme ST | Infrared (IR) + RF (radiofrequency)
- A treatment that combines infrared light and radiofrequency to heat the deeper layers of the skin, aiming to tighten it. It suits people concerned about sagging along the jawline or cheeks, or who want firmer skin. Possible benefits: sagging / fine lines / pores / firmness / tightening, etc.

Number and frequency of sessions
Some people notice a change in their skin after a single session, but depending on your skin and concerns we recommend several sessions. When the aim is to improve spots or dullness, a guide is around 5–6 sessions at intervals of about one month. After that, regular treatment matched to the condition of your skin aims to maintain good results. It can also be combined with other skin treatments, such as peels, if needed.
After treatment and downtime
Redness or a warm feeling may occur straight after treatment, but it usually settles gradually over the same day or the next day. Spots and freckles may temporarily darken or form fine scabs after treatment; these come off naturally over a few days to about a week. After treatment your skin is more easily affected by UV, so please protect it thoroughly with sunscreen and other measures.
Aftercare
- Use sunscreen and protect the area from UV thoroughly
- Do not pick off scabs
- Do not rub the treated area hard
- Avoid getting a suntan during the course of treatment
- On the day of treatment, avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol
